Sue V Elkins

October 24, 1939 – July 20, 2024

Sue V. Elkins, 84 years old of Bartlett, TN, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, July 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Memphis, TN to Myrtle Beaver Vickers and Millard McCall Vickers. Sweet Sue, as she was affectionately nicknamed, was proud to say she was born in Elmwood Cemetery, where her father served as caretaker. Mrs. Elkins was a graduate of Tech High School where she met the love of her life, Max Elkins. They celebrated their marriage and family for 57 years. Mrs. Elkins retired from AT&T where she was a long distance operator. She thoroughly enjoyed her retirement with Max, where they spent time with family, attended numerous activities for their grandchildren, hosted many celebrations with family and friends, enjoyed working in their yard together, and the University of Memphis Tigers.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Joe Vickers, Herman Vickers, and Patsy Martin. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Elkins Borodkin (Larry), Lori Elkins Copeland (Shane), grandchildren Tara Copeland, Kara Copeland Walls (Seth), Ben Borodkin, Stephen Borodkin, and Andrew Copeland, and 7 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a brother, Jerry Vickers.

Visitation will take place at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 1:00p. Services to immediately to follow at 2:00p.
