Thomas W. Carnes, 72, of Memphis passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital-Bartlett. He was a graduate of Baldwyn High School in Baldwyn, MS, served in the Mississippi National Guard and was employed by Western Electric, Lucent Technology and Mastec. Mr. Carnes was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda G. Carnes; parents, Thomas Jefferson and Lennie Seale Carnes; sisters, Mary Ann Barnett, Nancy Robinson and Linda Harp and is survived by his sons, Jon Thomas Carnes and his wife Susan Carnes and Mark Richard Carnes and his wife, Ruth Ann all of Collierville, TN and Andrew Mowery of Memphis, TN; grandsons, Thomas Randolph Carnes and Ian Michael Carnes; granddaughters, Kelsey Taylor Brownlee and Courtney Anne Carnes; brother, Jimmy Carnes of Ellinwood, KS; sister, Jeanette Emmons and her husband, Ray of Saltillo, MS. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, Monday, November 23, 2009 and a funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 24, 2009 both at Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel with the entombment to be at Memory Hill Gardens Mausoleum.
