Thomas John Carty, 79, of Bartlett, Tennessee passed away on February 18, 2026 with his wife, Charlotte, at his bedside. Born in Brooklyn, New York on May 11, 1946 to James and Mary Carty, Tom enlisted in the Navy and was briefly stationed in Millington where he first met Charlotte, his wife of 57 years.
Tom was active in his church and community and various businesses, including his own accounting firm. He is survived by his wife Charlotte; his son, Thomas; his granddaughter, Anastasia; his sister, Teresa, of Hackettstown, New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
Visitation will be held 11:00am - 1:00pm, March 11, 2026 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett, Tennessee, followed by graveside service at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene, Germantown, Tennessee at 2:00pm. Flowers may be sent to Memphis Funeral Home or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Tom's memory or the charity of your choice.
