Vesta T. Loggans

Vesta T. Loggans, 86, passed away on August 29, 2015. She was born on December 9, 1928 in Norphlet, AR. Vesta graduated from New London High School and Tyler Commercial College. She retired from Good Shepard Medical Center in Longview, Texas and was a long time member of Macedonia Baptist Church. In her later years, she was a resident of Ave Maria Home where she enjoyed close friendships with both residents and staff. Faith, family and friends were precious to her and she patterned her life after the teachings of Jesus Christ. She loved and was loved by many. She was preceded in death by her husband Simeon Walter Loggans, to whom she was married for 38 happy years; and devoted Sister Rita Knott. She is survived by brother Franklin Davis; children Annette Brown, Denise Fort and David Loggans; sons-in-law Ben Brown and Steve Fort; grandchildren Brooke Polk, Katie Schwarz and Lauren Hampton; and great-grandchildren Peyton, Maddie, Milo, Homer, Hazel and Stella. Visitation will be at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 Germantown Road, on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 4th at 2:00 PM at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview, Texas. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held on a future date at Ave Maria Home. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Ave Maria, including Activity Director Amber Brown, and the Four West medical staff at Methodist Germantown Hospital. Heartfelt thanks to all of you for the care, kindness and compassion you gave to our beloved and precious mother.
