

Victor(Vic) Bridges Pressgrove Jr. was born on August 2nd 1953, to Victor B. Pressgrove Sr. and Lois Mae Allison Pressgrove. He has a sister, Eloise (Roy) Maddox of Memphis, and a brother, Terry (Karen) Pressgrove of Peachtree City, GA.
Vic graduated from Overton High School in 1972 and was a gifted athlete. Vic was baptised at Elliston Baptist Church.
Vic began working for MLGW as an apprentice lineman in 1974 and worked his way up to crew leader lineman. He won many awards for safety. He retired temporarily in 2000 and worked for several other electric companies restoring power to communities after they were struck by tornados, hurricanes, or ice storms, even many storms in the Mid South. Vic went back to work part-time as an inspector until his death, April 5th, 2026.
While working at MLGW, Vic, Johnny Beard, and Paul Stewart began coaching boys ages 8-18 in summer competitive baseball, the Memphis Tigers. They won numerous championships, even the World Series twice; 1988 and 1998.
Besides working and coaching, Vic loved most outdoor activities including fishing, some hunting, and rafting in Middle Tennessee. He especially loved fishing with his favorite dog, a corgi named Archie. Vic's favorite sports teams are Ole Miss Baseball, the NY Yankees, and the NY Giants.
Vic is preceded in death by his parents, Vic Sr (Daddy Victor) and Lois (Momma Lois), his in-laws Lonnie B. and Mary F. Kidd, his daughter Holland "Holly" Simms (21), his son Dallas Simms (23), and his nephew Kenneth Maddox.
Vic leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Beverly Kidd, his sister Eloise (Roy) Maddox of Memphis, his brother Terry (Karen) Pressgrove of Peachtree City, GA, his daughter Brandi Pressgrove and son Kevin (Cecelia) Simms of Midlothian, VA. He also leaves behind nieces Saundra (Gary) McElhannon of Hernando, MS, and Carly (Grant) Pressgrove of Peachtree City, his nephews Bryan (Ashley) Pressgrove, Philip (Madison) Pressgrove of GA, Jason (Shelby) Kidd of Olive Branch, MS, Brian and Brandon Kidd of Memphis, TN, great nieces Izobel, Olivia, and Sylvia Pressgrove of GA, Mallory Maddox and Melanie (Brandon) Murphy of MS, and great great nephews Brayden, Carson, Maitland, and Pilot McElhannon of Hernando, MS, and Dylan Pressgrove of GA,. He also leaves behind 3 grandchildren; Callum (9), Nolan (8), and Lila (4) of Midlothian, VA. The family also recognizes the various cousins, family, and friends all over the U.S.
Services for Vic will take place on Friday, April 17th 2026 at 10:00 AM at Memphis Funeral Home, located at 3700 N. Germantown Rd. with a public visitation Thursday night, April 16th beginning at 5 until 8PM. Friday's service will be lead by Brandon Murphree. The family thanks Johnny Beard, Paul Linley, Mike Gardino, Tommy Baker, Brad McElhannon, Jason Kidd, Bryan Pressgrove, and Philip Pressgrove for acting as Pallbearers.
