Wanda Vinson Williams passed away peacefully on February 25th after a short illness. She was born June 24th, 1924 to Matthew and Jessye Bennett Vinson. Her parents and her brother Matthew W. Vinson preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James B. Williams. Born in Memphis, she attended Hollywood High School and The University of Memphis. She retired after many years of service with Shelby County Schools. She especially enjoyed painting and spending time with her friends and family. She was also very generous to many charities. She was a very faithful Christian and a member of The Church of Christ. She is survived by her son Ron (Kay) of Arlington, her grandson Jason of Houston Texas, her nephew Michael Vinson (Vickie) and her niece Janis McCarty (Pete) The family will receive friends from 1pm until service time at 2pm, on Monday, February 29, 2016, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN 38133.
