

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Jack Presgrove, who departed this life peacefully after battling cancer on January 16, 2026, at the age of 82. Jack was born on December 1, 1943, in Memphis, TN, to James Ewell Presgrove and Lou Willie Cox Presgrove.
He attended Frayser High School. He also dedicated 30 years of his life to the Memphis Fire Department, retiring as Lieutenant.
He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and father-in-law. He was a cornerstone of his family and a guiding force for all who knew him. He also was a big car enthusiast. He would collect old cars, restore them, and make sure they looked good and went fast. An avid storyteller, Jack, was famous for turning everyday events into legendary tales. Jack was dedicated to his family and friends and treasured every moment with them as much as possible.
Jack was a constant source of laughter and love. Whether he was telling one of his legendary stories or cracking jokes, he had a rare gift for making everyone around him feel special and cared for. His presence was a gift, and his laughter will be missed.
Jack is preceded in death by his father James Ewell Presgrove, mother: Lou Willie Cox Presgrove, sister: Linda Presgrove McGarvey, daughter: Cathy Lynn Fischer and grandson James “Mikie” Presgrove.
He is survived by his sons: Michael Lee Presgrove (Tracy) and William Richard Presgrove, two grandchildren: Stacie Rene’ Presgrove and Britanie Paige Presgrove, five great grandchildren: Jaxon Paul Funderburk, Rhylin Cella Scirto, Kinsley Rae Watson, Wesson Lee Watson, and Jacob Michael Presgrove. He also leaves behind a brother: Jimmy Lee Presgrove (Pat) and a niece: Tammy McGarvey Viles (Jeff) and two great nieces: Nora and Cara.
Visitation will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, located at 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, on January 31, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
The Funeral Service will follow at the same location from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A Committal Service will take place at memory Hills Gardens, also at 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am on the same day.
