
On March 2, William M. “Bill” Raye, 66, of Cordova, passed peacefully into his Savior's arms at his home surrounded by his loving wife, MaryGlen, his brother in law and sister in law and best friends, Jon and Julia Oberhausen and his cousins, Patsy Maxwell and Carol McCarley. Mr. Raye was born in Chattanooga, TN to William Eugene and Virginia Woodward Raye on July 2, 1948. He graduated from Brainerd High School and the General Motors College. He retired as an OTR driver in 2010. He was a disabled Viet Nam Navy veteran and a Life Member of the Viet Nam Veterans Association of Memphis. Mr. Raye, the husband of MaryGlen S. Raye, also leaves a daughter, Christie Raye; a son, Michael Raye and their mother, Kay Raye; granddaughters, Katherine and Morgan and a great granddaughter, Karla, all of Louisville, KY; a step daughter, Mary McCarley Metschkie, her husband, Greg, of Frankfort, IL and their 3 sons, Mason, Brewer and Tanner; a sister, Lady Cheryl Raye of Raleigh, NC and a brother, Stephen B. Raye and his wife Wendy of Ocean Springs, MS. Bill never knew a stranger. His smile, easy-going, friendly personality will be missed by all who knew him.
