

Emilie was strong in her faith and believed in the power of prayer.She was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Granger, TX all of her life. Emilie married Anton H. Martinks on November 11, 1946. They settled on a small farm east of Granger. She spent her time as a homemaker and helped make a living out of farming.
In time the couple raised four sons. During this time, Emilie enjoyed gardening, canning , and preserving her garden produce. Her canned pickles and baked kolaches were sought after by all. As the farming operation grew and supported more members of the family, her dinner table had room for all and was the corner stone for all who came.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton H. Martinka, her son Dennis Martinka; her parents; and her sisters, Henrietta Vrabel Wolf and Frances Vrabel all of Granger.
She is survived by her sons, Laddie Martinka and wife Dale, Alan Martinka, and Dave Martinka and wife Brenda all of Bartlett; her grandchildren, Aaron and wife Jennifer Martinka of Bucksholts, Adam Martinka of Bartlett and fiancé Amber Carter of Georgetown, Denise and husband Billy Rhea of Jarrell, Natali Martinka of Bartlett, Brett and Neal Martinka of Georgetown, Matt and Wife Stephanie Martinka, Phillip and wife Amy Martinka, Jacob, Jordan , and Jared Martinka all of Bartlett; Also, Ben and wife Ashley Martinka of Bartlett, Elizabeth and husband Todd Steglich of Bartlett, Sarah and David Hejl of Temple, and Grace Martinka of Bartlett; her great grandchildren, Alli, Evan, Wyatt, Jeffery, and Joshua Martinka; Archie, and Clyde Steglich, and Kayley Hejl; her sister, Bernice Vrabel of Austin; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday June24, 2014 from 6pm to 8pm with a Holy Rosary at 7pm at Goodnight Funeral Home in Bartlett, TX. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday June 25, 2014 at 10 am at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Granger, TX. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church.
