Eva Marie Turek Davila

Eva Marie Davila was born Eva Marie Turek in Prague, Czechoslovakia, on May 9, 1946. After traveling to, and living in, various parts of the world - including Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Switzerland; and Chicago and learning to speak 7 languages - she and her family moved to Granger, Texas in 1978. In 1989, she and her 3 children settled in Bartlett, where she worked at Will O’ Bell Nursing Home as a Certified Nurses Aide for 25 years.

She married Jose Angel Davila on July 9, 1992, and they began their journey together in life.

She loved being there for and taking care of her family, taking care of “her little people” at the nursing home, listening to music, watching Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud, doing word search puzzles, cooking for Joe, and caring for any person or any animal in need.

Always sacrificing her needs for those of her family and friends whom she loved dearly, Eva will be remembered for her generosity, her selflessness and her unwavering faith and as a dedicated wife and mother who always wore a smile, even when the going got tough. Her illness could never rob her of who she was, always and forever, grateful until God called her home one early Sunday morning, the 18th day of October, 2015.

To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to always see the best in others; to give of herself; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know that even one life breathed easier because she lived and to leave this world a bit better – that was Eva.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jan and Marie Turek. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jose Angel Davila of Bartlett, daughters Melinda Olivarez of Northglenn, Colorado, and Melissa Jones of Temple, Texas, son, John Paul Denis of Bartlett, and eleven grandchildren (Rick, Sebastian, Marquez, Caleb, Jasmine, Miko, Sonya, Devin, Marissa, JohnJohn and Evalyn). There will be a Memorial service at Goodnight Funeral Home in Bartlett, Texas on Saturday October 24, 2015 at 2:00 pm.
