Virginia C. Meissner

Visitation will be Friday at Goodnight Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Services for Mrs. Meissner will be Saturday, August 3rd at 10:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church in Bartlett. Burial to follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery.

She attended school in Granger and Friendship and graduated from Friendship High School in 1940. She went to Durmham Business College in Austin and worked at the Department of Public Safety before her marriage. She married W.A. (Sonny) Meissner on September 14, 1946. He preceded her in death on Christmas Day 1993. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Bartlett, Schwertner Community Club, Schwertner Community Lady’s Club, Hermann Sons and St. John Monday Domino Group.

She is survived by two children and their spouses: Ronnie and Kathy Pitts, and Billy and Kathy Meissner. She leaves four special grandchildren Priscilla Hale and husband Chris of San Antonio, Allen Meissner and wife Natalie of Bartlett, Brennen Pitts of Bartlett, and Samantha Amidon of Bartlett. Also her five precious great grandchildren are Cutter, Kinzleigh, Chloe, Karsyn Hale and Kaleb Amidon.

Her parents preceded her in death as well as three sisters and one brother Josphine Baldeschwiler, Angeline Spinn, Mary Burnham and Johnnie Driska.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Meissner will be David Krcha, Gilbert Kretzschmar, Jr., Scott Krueger, Mike Nemec, Leonard Pate, Randy Rafay, Pat Spinn and Leonard Steglich.
