He was born to John and Elizabeth Betty “Kuhar” Link in Peoria on October 18, 1949. They preceded him in death.
Al married the love of his life Sue Abraham on October 23, 1976 in Peoria. She survives.
He is survived by his daughter Nicole Link, a brother John (Lynn) Link, sisters; Jan (Rick) Holman, and Midge (Jeff) Barnes. He is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews as well as a city of friends.
Al is preceded in death by his sisters; Mary, and Sr. Barbara.
Al retired from Ameren after 34 years of service. He went from working hard for his family to enjoying himself on the golf course with his family and friends. He was very social and will be missed by all who came in contact with him. Al enjoyed volunteering at the Elks Lodge and delivering Christmas baskets to the unfortunate. He was also a proud member of the American Legion Post 979 in Bartonville and served in the Military Funeral Honor Guard and cooked on many occasions. He also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles in his free time.
Al will not only be known as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, but as a United States Air Guard Veteran.
A visitation will be held 1:00-2:30pm on Sunday September 2, 2018 at Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 2:30pm
A celebration of life will be held 3:00pm on Sunday September 2, 2018 at the American Legion 979 in Bartonville IL
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to his favorite charity St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
