

He was born December 6, 1944 in Peoria to Arnold and Eva (Nolan) Burdette. He married Martha Scott on March 9, 1968 in Lawndale, CA. She survives along with five children: Cheryl (John) Trotter of Hanna City, Pete (Dawn) Burdette of Mackinaw, James Duncan of Hanna City, Jackie Burdette of Florida, Veronica Burdette of Washington, three grandchildren: Ashley Stroud of Henry, Chase Stroud of Iowa, Jordan Burdette of Hanna City, one great-granddaughter, Kooper Jo Stroud of Iowa, and one brother, Richard “Charlie” (Marilyn) Burdette of Hopedale.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Arnie was a United States Navy veteran serving in Vietnam. During his time in the military he served on the USS Constellation, USS Oriskany, and the USS Tappahannock. Following his time in the military, he worked for Bell Telephone Co., AT&T, and then Ameritech retiring in the early 2000’s.
He was an avid bowler with multiple 300 games and 800 series. He loved gardening and working on his numerous hosta beds and bird watching. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids, playing games and drawing.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery with military honors.
