
She was born Oct. 28, 1924 in Yates City to Forrest and Edna (Turl) Adams. She married Edward Mammen Sep. 4, 1948 in Elmwood. He passed away June 19, 1995 in Bartonville. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Glenn and James Adams, and one sister, Muriel Thompson.
Survivors include three sons: Jim (Elizabeth) Mammen of Billings, MT, David (Debbie) Mammen of Gilbert, AZ, John (Christie Kennard) Mammen of Overland Park, KS, thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters: Faye (Norvis) Hill, Marjorie (Bob) Wicker, and one brother Samuel (Ida) Adams all of North Carolina. She was also survived by several dear and close nieces and nephews.
During WWII Betty worked at Green River Ordinance Plant and later worked at several Peoria area manufacturing plants, where she made many lifetime friends.
She was a member of Bartonville Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be Monday Nov. 15, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Rev. Linda Richard will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home building fund or to the charity of your choice.
