

Born June 2, 1924 to Chester N. and Floy (Kingsley) Sprague, she married William D. McCoy on June 3, 1944. They celebrated 56 wonderful years together before his death in September of 2000.
Surviving is one son Kevin (Cindie) McCoy and daughter Kimberly Harris both of Glasford; grandchildren Lisa (Brent) Ward, Chet (Kari) McCoy, Natalee Roseboom, Tricia (Rodney) Roberts, Kristine (Nathan) Clark, Savannah (Mike) Cheatham, Christian (Ewelina) McCoy; step grandchildren Zachary (Layne), Meghan, Tyler and Kyle (Amy) Harris, great grandchildren Kierston, Cole, and Camden McCoy, Georgia DeMaster, Addyson Roberts, Kaleb, Gabriel, Isabella and Eli Clark, Caden Cheatham and Lilah McCoy and step great grandchildren Rowan and Ainsley Harris. She is also survived by adored nieces Debbie (Harold) Roberts and Diane (Kurt) Butler, 23 great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 2 sisters-in-law, 1 brother in-law, her son Chris, and son-in-law Dr. William Harris.
Not only was Betty the perfect matriarch of the family, she was also considered so in both the church and community. A lifelong faithful member of Glasford Baptist Church she served as a Deaconess, Jr. Choir Director and Awana helper. She lived her faith boldly and unapologetically.
Betty owned and operated The Beauty Nook out of her home in Glasford for 32 years. After “retiring” from her beauty shop, her work career continued as a realtor, earning her top commendations as a member of the “Millionaire Sales Club” when properties and homes weren’t quite as expensive.
Services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Glasford Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Lancaster Cemetery immediately following.
