Charles "Chuck" Melvin Boland

Chuck was born on February 8, 1951 in Peoria to James Russell and Julia Isabel (McShane) Boland, Sr. He married Caron S. Allison on December 7, 1984 in Peoria.

Surviving are his wife, Caron; his son, Michael (Cheryl Pritzker) Boland of Peoria, IL; his daughter, Shantel (Larry Smith) Boland of Bartonville, IL; his step-sons, James (Brittnie Streck) Mason of Chillicothe, IL and Timothy (Nicole Boyd) Mason of S. Elgin, IL; seven grandchildren, Zachary Boland, Nicholas Page, Taylor, Landon, Lincoln, Edward and William Mason; his brothers and sisters, Michealene (Glen) Smith of Nixa, MO, John (Jamie) Boland of Roanoke, IL, Linda Maserati of Canton, IL, Dan Boland of Roanoke, IL and Rebecca (Dale )Howard of Peoria, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James Russell Boland, Jr. and David Lee Boland.

Chuck served in the U.S. Marines during Vietnam. He was a Lieutenant for the Department of Corrections for 26 years, retiring in 2002. He also worked for the Peoria Park District, Paradice Gambling Boat and finally for InterCon at Midwest Gen in Pekin. He was a member of the American Legion Post 979, the IL Retirees Club and was of the Catholic faith. Chuck enjoyed playing golf and fishing and was an avid Cubs fan. He loved spending time with his grand babies.

Services will be held on the Friday, January 16, 2015 at 10am at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Father Terry Cassidy will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 6pm to 8pm also at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at Springdale Cemetery on Soldiers Hill in Peoria.
