Clarence Butch Edward Krus

Clarence E. “Butch” Krus, 73, of Bartonville, Illinois, died Friday, at 2:45 PM at OSF St Francis surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 25,1938 in Bartonville, Illinois. He was the son of Klaus and Emma (Stuaan) Krus. He married Shelba J. Coulter on September 28, 1957 in Corinth, Mississippi. She survives, along with five children. Lisa Lee, Kimberly (Scott) Bailey, Brenda (Jackie) Ellingsworth all of Bartonville, Wesley ( Melissa) Krus of Norfolk, Virginia, and Katherine (James) Johnson of Oceanside, California. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Gwen Gonzalez, Daniel Smith, Nicholas Ellingsworth, Adam Smith, Bryan Bailey, Matthew Sears, Ryan Krus, Alex Johnson, Bethany Krus, and Quintin Johnson along with 3 great grandchildren, Cole Smith, Kaitlyn Smith and Tristan Bailey. He has one sister surviving, Emma (Edward) Riekena of Bellevue, Illinois and one brother, Peter Krus of Bartonville. He was preceded in death by five brothers.

Butch was a autobody repairman all of his life in the Peoria Area, for 15 years, he owned and operated Krus Autobody in Bartonville. He was a former Morton Auxillary Police officer, a former Morton Optimist Club member, a former Bartonville Street commissioner, and a member of the I.G.O. (Independent Garage Owners). He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of East Peoria. Butch was a loving family man, he loved family dinners and events. His greatest enjoyment was attending or watching NASCAR events and Football events with family and friends.

Funeral services will be Thursday February 16, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church in East Peoria. The Rev. Mary Arnold will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Wednesday at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel and 30 minutes prior services at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Bartonville. Memorials may be made to his church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
