

Daniel was the beloved son of Cynthia (Danley) Dotzert, who survives him, and the late Steven Dotzert. He is also survived by his children, Josh Dotzert and Ben Avila, and his sister, Julie (Joe) Gosnell. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews, as well as grand nieces and nephews whom he adored.
Daniel shared a special bond with his ex-wife, Lisa Dotzert, who survives him, and he remained friends with her. He also cherished the memories with Amy Avila, the mother of Ben and Josh, who was his high school sweetheart.
Daniel was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as his aunts, uncles and cousins.
Daniel loved his dogs and had a passion for karaoke, camping, and hunting. He treasured being with his family, enjoying big family dinners, and was known as the life of the party among his friends.
A visitation will be held at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel, on November 28, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm. Pastor John King will officiate the services. Committal will take place at Pottstown Cemetery in Pottstown, IL.
Memorial's may be made in Daniel's name to SAMS Animal Rescue or St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the family to help with expenses at this time.
Daniel will be remembered for his love of life and his ability to bring joy to those around him. He will be deeply missed.
