Donna E. Burdess

She was born September 3, 1944 in Peoria, Illinois to Paul and Mabel (Riekena) Weber. On February 1, 1964 in Glasford, Illinois, Donna married John J. Burdess who survives along with her parents of Farmington, Illinois, sons Jeff (LariLyn) Burdess of Saginaw, Michigan and Jerry (Sharon) Burdess of Lewistown, Illinois; ten grandchildren, J.J., Alissa, Emily, Jacob, Jared, Justin, Hannah, Taylor, Ty and Sydney ;sister, Anna Marie Goble of Springfield, Missouri, brother, Richard (Martha) Weber of Martin, Tennessee, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Frances and Randy Alwood of Hanna City and several nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Robert Stookey.

Donna was employed as a secretary at Faith Baptist Christian School, in Pekin for 12 years and also at Miller Realty in Peoria. She was a CNA at the Apostolic Christian Restmor Home in Morton for 12 years.

Donna was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. Some of Donna’s greatest joys were watching her grandchildren’s sporting events and going to drag racing events with family.

She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Pekin for 41 years and faithfully supported her husband who is the church bus mechanic. The Family would like to thank the staff of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home for their compassionate care.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Faith Baptist Church in Pekin. Pastor Timothy Collard will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 4PM until 7PM at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel and 30 minutes prior to the service on Saturday at the Church. Burial will be in the Smithville Cemetery. Memorials in Donna’s memory may be given to Faith Baptist Christian School, 1501 Howard Ct., Pekin, Illinois 61554, or to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
