

Al was born on July 31, 1929 in Peoria, Illinois to Anton P. and Matilda A. (Happ) Hageman. He married Ina M. Hislope on July 28, 1951 in Peoria.
Al is survived by his wife, Ina; his daughters, Judy Johnson of Hurst, TX, Victoria Kersten of Janesville, WI, Kathy Hurst of Mapleton, IL and Susan (Tim) Gleason of Park Ridge, IL; nine grandchildren, Bryan Johnson, Tyler Kersten, Amanda Hurst, Robby Hurst, Billy Hurst, Terry Gleason, Sarah Gleason, Charlie Gleason and Katie Gleason; one brother, Jack Hageman of Fort Myers, FL; two sisters, Marie (Robert) Hellrigel of Peoria, IL and Donna (Joe) Koeppel of Peoria, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Glen.
Al served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as a Supervisor for Keystone and then for Cilco for 44 years, retiring in 1993. Al was a member of the St. Jude KC, the American Legion Post 979, the VFW in Bartonville, Timberlake Club and the Elks Club. He was also a member of St. Anthony Church in Bartonville. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, as well as fishing, hunting and hiking, golfing, playing dartball, mushroom hunting, and wintering in Tucson. Al was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Services will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Church in Bartonville with visitation held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the church. Father David Heinz will be officiating. Visitation will also be held on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Burial with military honors will be at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans’ Home, 1015 O’Conor Ave., LaSalle, Illinois, 61301 or the Alzheimer’s Association of Central Illinois.
