

Emmett J. Ledbetter Jr., 67, of rural Peoria, died Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at his residence. He was born October 20, 1944 in Union Grove, Alabama. He was the son of Emmett J. and Lucy Rader (Anderton) Ledbetter Sr. . He married Rebecca Sue Johnson on July 6, 1985 in East Peoria, Illinois.
He is survived by three children, Jeff (Becky)Ledbetter of Mapleton, Illinois, Tracy (Brenda) Ledbetter of Glasford, Illinois and Anita (Tracy) Bohm of Manito, Illinois. He is survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. Emmett is survived by one sister, Dolly (Gordon) Dykes of Columbus, Ohio and one brother, Murphy (Ruby) Ledbetter of Bryant, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
He and his wife co-owned E and B Machine Shop for 22 years in Pekin, Illinois. They retired in 2010. He had been a machinist for over 40 years. Emmett and Rebecca had a mutual love and admiration for each other, in work and enjoying life. They traveled and spent time at their cabin in Alabama and enjoyed fishing. They both enjoyed their dogs together.
Funeral services will be Monday, February 27, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Pastor Don Leach will officiate. A visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Private burial services will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
