Evelyn Marie Wallace

Evelyn Marie Wallace, 86, of Peoria passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 10, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born March 13, 1936, in Peoria, to the late Paul and Alice (Buckner) Turner of Hanna City. She married her sweetheart, Gordon C. Wallace, Jr. on September 21, 1957, remaining married for 65 years.

She is survived by her husband, Gordon; her five children, Sherry Wallace, Terry Wallace (Paula Burgin), Cindy Phillips, Steve Wallace (Stephanie Reeder), Susan Ronk (Scott Johnson); six grandchildren, Kari Gallup (Jason Gallup), Clayton Wallace, Cody Wallace, Mitchell Ronk, Colton Ronk and Brayton Wallace; two great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Nash Gallup.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Alice Turner; two sisters, Dorothy (Laverne) Meyer and Bonnie (Gary) Garlish.

She graduated from Manual High School and worked at Caterpillar. She cherished the lifelong friendships she made throughout her life in Peoria, Seattle and New Jersey. Evelyn enjoyed her children, baking, traveling, shopping, her pinnacle club, but mostly playing Skip-Bo with her grandkids.

Evelyn was loved by all the people whose lives she touched and brought so much happiness to her family, she will be missed greatly.

Evelyn's family has arranged a celebration of life gathering that will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Raber Packing Co. 3000 W. Farmington Road, West Peoria, IL 61604. Cremation has been entrusted to the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel.
