Leroy Forrest Crew, age 82, of Bellevue, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at his residence. Leroy was born on December 3, 1930 in Peoria to Joseph W. and Hilda A. (Vert) Crew. He married Delores J. Schlis on July 22, 1951 in Peoria. Leroy is survived by his wife, Delores; his children, Joseph (Debra) Crew of Bellevue, IL, Jerry Crew of Florida, Nancy Crew-Lennon of Bellevue and Sandy Crew-Neltner of West Peoria, IL; 11 Grandchildren; 15 Great-grandchildren and one sister, Betty Norris of West Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister. After working for the Teamsters, Leroy worked for 49 years for the Laborers Local 165. Leroy’s favorite pastime was drag racing and he was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed fishing and traveling. Services will be on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 1pm at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Rev. Justyn Smith will be officiating. Visitation will on Monday, October 7, 2013 from 5pm to 7pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
