

LeRoy “Lee” Peters, 82, of Bartonville, died at 5:52 P.M. Tuesday, May 24,2011 at Manor Care, Peoria, Illinois. He was born September 9, 1928 in Bartonville, Illinois. He was the son of Heye and Hannah Heuermann Peters. He married Coralie Mordue on September 30, 1950 in Bartonville, Illinois. She preceded him in death on March 23, 1999 in Peoria. He is also preceded in death by one daughter, Janis L. Hasler, 2 grandchildren, 1 brother, and 1 sister. He is survived by one son, Michael (Jane) Peters of Bartonville, and one daughter, Lori Peters of Peoria. He is survived by one son-in-law, Roger Hasler of Bartonville. He has four grandchildren, Jason Tibbs, Megan Hasler, Samantha and Michelle Peters. One great granddaughter also survives, Allison Tibbs. One sister, Hilda Hodge of Bartonville also survives.
He was the owner and operator of Peters Oil Company for 35 years in Bartonville, then he worked at Johnson Hydralic, then as a realtor for Noah Herman. Lee also worked in sales at Parkway Chrysler Plymouth Dealer. He last worked for Limestone Township. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Lee was a past Village Trustee of Bartonville for several years, Past president and member of the Bartonville Park Board, a member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Bartonville, where he was a past president and member of the Brotherhood of the church and a past church council member.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville. The Rev. Dr. Philip Lund will officiate. Visitation services will be Monday from 4 until 7 PM at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
