Mabel L. Modglin

Mabel L. Modglin, 95, of Peoria, Illinois passed away at the Heartland Healthcare Center in Peoria on Wednesday, November 9, 2016. She was born on January 12, 1921 in Ottawa, Illinois to Joseph and Mary (Facer) Tomaszewski. She married Charles H. Modglin Sr. on October 5, 1946 in Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death on October 31, 1996 in Manito, Illinois. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

She is survived by one son, Charles H. (Christie Ricketts) Modglin Jr. of Peoria, Illinois; one sister, Mary Ann Davis of Bartonville, Illinois. She has several nieces and nephews surviving.

Mabel was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church of Bartonville. She had worked in earlier years at Kresges Department Store in Peoria and the Pere Marquette Hotel.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Saturday November 12, 2016 at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Father David Heinz will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Spring Lake Cemetery in rural Manito, Illinois. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church.
