

Michael (Mike) Emery Quinn, 77, of Bartonville, Illinois, passed away on April 28, 2025, at Pekin Hospital in Pekin, Illinois. Michael was born on August 7, 1947, to Ernest Quinn and Virgina Quinn (Stevens) in Houghton Lake, Michigan.
He married his high school sweetheart, Jody Wendelin on September 16, 1967, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville, Illinois. In addition to his loving wife, Jody, of 57 years, Mike is survived by his three beloved sons: Todd (wife Sandy), Tony (wife Diane), and Troy. He is also survived by grandkids Seth, Caitlin, Keira, Conor, Reese, and Max; his brother Steve, his twin sisters Kim and Kristy, extended family, nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Jeff and Pat.
Throughout his life, Mike worked as a tradesman specializing in painting and hanging wallpaper. He started his career, working for a private contractor for 17 years before moving on to a position in the Skilled Trades department with Peoria School District 150 where he worked for over 30 years until his retirement finishing the last 3 years of his career managing the school district’s painters as a foreman.
Mike served his country in the US Army Reserve, leaving with an honorable discharge in 1972. Mike became a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and a lifetime member of the American Legion where he and his wife enjoyed the company of friends. For the last 15 years, Mike was a member of the American Legion Honor Guard at his home post in Bartonville, IL.
Mike loved sports of all kinds and was an avid baseball fan, taking any opportunity to watch or attend a Cubs game with friends and family. He especially loved the Cubs-Card games that brought out fun, family rivalry. When not enjoying baseball, Mike was enjoying his favorite pro golfers and football teams. Mike also had special interest in the college football teams in support of his granddaughters attending those colleges.
Mike was an outdoorsman and loved to camp and fish with his wife and sons as they were growing up whenever a free weekend presented itself and is something that is instilled in his sons to this day. Post-retirement, Mike enjoyed traveling around the US with his wife visiting PGA golf tours and other interesting locations just because they looked fun. Mike and Jody spent the last 16 years as snowbirds in Florida making lifetime friends from across the US and Canada.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 10th from 1pm-5pm at the American Legion Post 979 in Bartonville, IL (address below). The American Legion Honor Guard will open the celebration with full honors and a 21-gun salute at 1pm.
