

Mildred Wichman, 94, of Sunrise Beach, MO and a resident of Bartonville, IL for 89 years, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 9th at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, MO. Kent and Mary Elliott were with her at the time of her passing.
She was born December 3, 1916 in Bartonville, IL, to Albert and Ethel Huxtable Monroe. She was a 1934 graduate of Manual Training High School in Peoria, IL.
On November 22, 1936, Mildred married Robert George Elliott. He died June 7, 1941 in Peoria at the age of 24. On April 21, 1956, she married Walter Joseph Wichman. He died January 13, 2003 in Peoria at the age of 100.
She had been employed at Hiram Walkers, Borin’s Auto Service and Elmer H. Luthy Insurance Agency. She was a former member of the American Lung Association and worked as a volunteer on the mobile x-ray unit.
She and Walter were passionate about ballroom dancing, and felt very privileged and grateful to have lived during the Big Band era and to have danced to many of the Big Bands at The Hub in Edelstein, IL.
Always loving, caring and thoughtful, she will be missed by her son, Kent Robert Elliott and wife Mary of Sunrise Beach, MO; their children, Amy Elliott Heyn of Boone, IA and Colleen Elliott Audet and husband Eric of Plymouth, Mi; a step-daughter, Linda L. Adolphson and husband Larry of Springfield, MO and their children, Gary L. Adolphson and wife Linda, of Menononie, WI and Bonnie Adolphson Quiggle of Zimmerman, MN. Also surviving are one great-grandson, Grant Robert Waitz; three great-granddaughters, Raelynn and Brienna Quiggle of MN, Alexis Fazio of IL, several nieces and nephews and many friends she made along the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands.
Services will be held at West Lake Christian Church, Laurie, MO on Thursday, September 15, at 11am. On Saturday, September 17, a service will be held at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel, Bartonville, IL at 10am, with visitation from 9 – 9:45am. Burial will follow in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria, IL.
