Richard A. Melton, 84, of Bartonville, Illinois, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at Unity Point\Methodist in Peoria, Illinois. He was born on April 8, 1932 in Peoria to Ellis and Mary Melton. He married Marilynann Frey on June 4, 1955 in Peoria. She survives.
He also has three children surviving, Daniel (Susan Kay) Melton, Debora Brown and David (Karen) Melton all of Bartonville; one grandson, Denny Brown Jr. and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jennifer and one sister and four brothers.
Richard was a welder for 33 years at Keystone Steel and Wire Company retiring in 1989. He was a Korean Conflict Army Veteran. He was a master woodworker enjoying making furniture. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 17, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Deacon Louis Tomlianovich will officiate. Visitation will be from 5pm until 7pm Thursday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Memorials may be made to the Boy Scout Troop 200.
