

Ronnie was born on February 27, 1947 in Gassville, Arkansas to Gale and Blanche (Burton) Knight.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Jan (Bevins); his daughter, Lisa Jeans (Tim) of Germantown Hills; sisters, Shirley Heller (Gene) of Bartonville, Sharon Lovelady (Donnie) of Hanna City, brother, Jerry (Val) of Ozark, MO and several special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Gale.
Ronnie was a 1965 graduate of Limestone High School. He enjoyed playing baseball and softball in the Bartonville and Peoria area for many years. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the 101st Air Cav during the Vietnam War, where he received the Bronze Star Medal for Heroism, two Purple Hearts, among many other honors. After serving in the war, Ronnie was a member of Carpenters Local 183 where he worked for River City Construction for a number of years. Ronnie and Jan then relocated to Branson, MO where they managed the Ozark Valley Inn for several years. Most recently, they were property managers for Self Storage Plus in Manassas, VA.
An avid Cardinal fan, Ronnie had a passion for old cars, loved to tell stories and make people laugh. He was looking forward to his upcoming retirement so he could spend time with Jan traveling the United States in their newly purchased motorhome - a dream they shared for many years.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. A graveside with military honors and interment will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Bartonville on Thursday, September 19 at 10:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association or the Veterans Association.
