Roy Richard Coon

He was born November 14, 1916 in Fresno, California to Roy W. and Tillie Ertmold Coon. He married Amelia “Molly” Kasic on September 23, 1937 in Peoria.

Surviving are his wife of 73 years; one daughter, Barbara Coon of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; three sons, Larry (Nancy) Coon of Germantown Hills, Gary (Diane) Coon, and Darrel (Alice) Coon all of Morton; four sisters, Shirley Wheeler of Peoria, Eleanor Kimberly, Joyce Tennison both of Florida, and Marcella McGuire of California. Roy loved and enjoyed his ten grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He worked for Caterpillar as a machine operator for 33 years before retiring in 1975. He was a member of Faith Missionary Church. His family has fond memories of Roy’s love for his cars, fishing, and playing his guitar.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Faith Missionary Church in Bartonville. Pastor Craig Hislope will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel in Bartonville and one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
