He was born August 13, 1949 in Peoria to Adolph and Grace (Jones) Hibser. He married Judy Churchill on July 4, 1969 in Peoria. She survives along with one daughter, Jennifer (Bryan) Medlin of Deer Creek, five grandchildren: Emma, Libby, Wyatt Medlin, Carter, Kaiden Eustice, two brothers: Duane (Joann) Hibser of East Peoria, Tom (Libby) Hibser of Acworth, Georgia, one sister, Anne Hash of Bartonville, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Heather Eustice, and one brother, Paul Hibser.
Steve was a United States Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War. Following his time in the military he was a Machinist at Keystone Steel and Wire for 38 years retiring in 2008.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, the Chicago Bears, and fixing things for family and friends. He also enjoyed traveling the United States with Judy, they visited 38 states.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 1, 2024 from 2 to 4 pm at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Funeral services will be at 4 pm on Sunday following the visitation. Rev Jack Thompson will officiate.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
