Steven M. Hurst

He was born November 28, 1966 in Peoria to William and Eileen (Lane) Hurst. He married Sharon D. Fuson on May 20, 2000 in Peoria. She preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by his grandfather LeRoy Lane of Bartonville and grandparents, Albert and Mary Hurst of Bartonville.

Surviving are his parents, of Bartonville; one son, Adam Hurst; a sister, Lynette (Joseph) Mahieu of Peoria, a grandmother, Clara Lane of Peoria; 2 nephews, Ryne (Jessie) Meardy of Bartonville, Mike Meardy of Bartonville; his mother and father-in law Harold and Judy Fuson of West Peoria; a sister-in-law, Theresa (John) Powers of Laura, IL; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and one great-niece.

Steve graduated from Limestone High School in 1984. He worked at J.A. Fritch & Sons for 25 years and was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #1. He was a loving husband and father and a great friend to all. Steve was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to hunt and fish. His prize possession was his 1971 El Camino. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 27, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Franciscan Friars will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Chapel. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in West Peoria.

Memorials may be made to an education fund for his son Adam established at CEFCU.
