Thomas Edward Whitby

Thomas Edward Whitby, 64, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Unity Point\Methodist Hospital in Peoria. He was born on September 2, 1953 in Peoria to Edward N. and Jennie L. (Smith) Whitby. He married Karen Guilliams on July 25, 1987 in Peoria. She survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Joseph Whitby and David (Esther) Riezinger both of Peoria; one grandson, Deklan T. Riezinger; four siblings, William(Jenny) Whitby of Hanna City, Robert (Trudy) Whitby of Peoria Heights, Ginger Wilcoxen and Lois Whitby both of Peoria. He is also survived by a lifetime friend, Denny Dougherty. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Otis and Jim Whitby.

He was a computer technician for several years and was a Synodically Authorized Minister at St. John Lutheran Church in Bartonville for several years.

He loved his family, especially his grandson. He enjoyed camping and all of his church ministry at St. John Lutheran, First English Lutheran and St. Mark Lutheran Church in Chillicothe. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bartonville.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church. Pastor Michael Jones will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be at the Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
