

Clarence Chester Wright, age 88, of Collinsville, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Country Living Adult Care, Martinsville. Born in Patrick County, December 21, 1922, he was a son of the late Homer Columbus Wright and Bertie Lawless Wright. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Alma Edna Wright, and brothers, Alvis Edward Wright, Arnold Earnest Wright, Warren Harding Wright and Paul Clayton Wright.
He retired after 40 years as the owner of Wright’s Bulldozing and Excavating, and he was a member of Wilson Street Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving is his wife of fifty years, Elsie Foley Wright, a daughter, Susan McGregor and her husband, Alan, of Collinsville, a son, Patrick Homer Wright of Collinsville, a sister, Thelma Wright Anglin of Martinsville, two grandchildren, Shannon McGregor Smith and Scott Alan McGregor, and two great-grandchildren, Scarlett M. Smith and Shelby M. Smith.
The funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, August 20, 2011, in the Bassett Chapel of Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jack Foley officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. prior to the service.
