Emily Irene Wright

Born in Wise County, August 2, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Alfred J. Cox and Minnie Ann Edwards Cox. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Posey Jackson Wright; her son, Ronald Dale Wright Sr., and a brother, Avis Cox.

She served alongside her husband both in pastoral ministries, the last being as a member of Faith Fellowship Assembly of God in Alexandria, and as an owner of Wright’s Tax Service.

Surviving is her daughter, Sandra Wright Prillaman; her daughter-in-law, Glenda Miller Wright of Bristol, VA; five sisters, Janice Grant of Kinston, NC, Willa Dean Ingram of Dublin, GA, Lomaretta Mullins and Lauraetta Asburn both of Pound, Gail Thompson of Henry; two brothers, Franklin Cox of Pound, Jamie Cox of Spotsylvania; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 18, 2010, at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Bassett, with the Rev. Sammy Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow in Henry Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6;00 to 8;00 P.M. Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the funeral home, and at other times at the home on Rt. 220.
