

Eva Dell Hairston, 69, of 916 Jefferson Circle in Martinsville, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
She was born in Patrick County, April 14, 1941, to Charlie and Martha Reynolds Hagwood.
She retired from Bassett Chair Company after 31 years. She was a member of Trinity Holiness Church and attended the Galilean House of Worship.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Hairston; a daughter, Linda Hairston; three sisters, Annie Hairston, Shirley Hagwood and Bessie Reynolds; and two brothers, Tom and Richard Hagwood.
Surviving are five daughters, Teresa Baldwin of Atlanta, GA, Marilyn Hairston of Blacksburg, Martha Hairston, Penny Hairston and Kimberly Hairston, all of Martinsville; three sons, Howard Hairston and Charlie Hairston, both of Martinsville, and George Henry Hairston of Roanoke; two sisters, Carrie Elizabeth Penn and Vera Hagwood, both of Martinsville; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of special friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 23, 2010, at 1:00 P.M. at the Galilean House of Worship with Pastor Michael Penn officiating. Interment will follow in the Hairston Family Cemetery in Patrick County.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:00 P.M. at the church prior to the funeral service.
