Hazel Lee Wright

Hazel Lee Wright, 85, of Collinsville, VA., went home to be with her Lord Friday, February 28, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Patrick County on January 10, 1929, to the late Flem D. Craig and Queenie Hancock Craig. Hazel retired from the Maryland State Social Services Department and formerly worked for more than a year for The Southern Area on Aging as a van driver. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Wright, two sisters, Lera Washburn and Vivian Ratliff and one brother, Rev. D.C. Neal Craig.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law; Rodger Lee and Sue A. Wright of Cumberland, Maryland, Michael E. and Rebecca Wright of Monroe, North Carolina and Donald C. Wright of Martinsville, VA., one sister and brother-in-law, Viola and Pete Voorhees, Sister-in-law, Dorothy Craig all of Patrick Springs, VA., two brothers and sister-in-law, Wayne Craig and Clarence and Evelyn Craig all of Patrick Springs, VA., six grandchildren, Cassandra Wright, Matthew Wright, Jason Wright, Betsy Wright and husband Brian Johnson, Jennifer McKenzie and Kelly Wright and two great grandchildren, Raegan and Evan McKenzie.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 3, 2014 at the Pleasant View Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Anderson and Rev. Wayne Hannah officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
