James David "David" Flint

Born in Buena Vista, February 20, 1938, he was a son of the late Fred Hartless and Laura Bell Chittum Hartless. Also preceding him in death were sisters, Geneva Mueller, Gloria DeBerry, a brother, Charles Flint, a son, Billy Flint, and a grandson, Brandon Lee Moore. David retired from Branch Highways.

Surviving is his wife, Patricia Ann Flint, three sons, James E. Flint Jr. of Martinsville, Richard A. Flint of Nevada, Larry Hamner of Oak Ridge, NC. three daughters, Shari L. Steagall of Oak Ridge, NC, Laura E. Parnell and Debra A. Moore both of Collinsville, nine grandchildren, Chris Flint, Dustin Flint, Adam Flint, Allyson Steagall, Randy Steagall, Kayla Hamner, Samantha Martin, Nick Cahoon, William Cannaday, and two great-grandsons, Brandon Lee Flint and Logan Dean Poff.

The funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Bassett, with Pastor Ron Gardner officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
