James Harold Foley

James” Harold” Foley, 85, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015 at his home. He was born in Patrick County on January 2, 1930 to the late Jim Russell Foley and Ollie Mae Crawford Foley. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Foley was the owner and operator of Foley’s Used Cars and County Line Furniture Company for over 55 years. He was a lifetime member of the Patrick Henry Fire Department where he served as the Chaplain for many years and a member of Northside Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lona Witt Foley and his sisters, Sharlene Turner and Louise Turner and his brother, Albert Grady Foley.

Surviving are his daughters, Lona Debbie Davidson of Bassett and Donna Gail Foley of Stuart; his son, Harold Danny Foley, Sr. of Patrick Springs and seven grandchildren, Danny Foley, Jr., Jimmy Foley, Christopher Thompkins, Jessica Davidson, Adam Foley, Barbara Davidson and Amanda Foley and one great grandchild, Austin McCoy.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held Monday, August 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Peal officiating. Interment will follow at the Foley-Witt Family Cemetery in Bassett.
