
James Edward "Eddie" Wall, age 73, of Collinsville, died Thursday, August 15, 2013, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. Born in Bassett December 8, 1939, he was a son of the late James Harvey Wall and Thelma Wood Wall.
Eddie was a 1958 graduate of Bassett High School and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was an radio announcer for WHEO in Stuart, WRAD in Radford, and WODY in Bassett. He retired from Bassett Furniture Industries after 33 years of service. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Pilot Mountain, NC, and attended First Baptist Church of Collinsville.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Ann Rodgers Wall, two sons, David Wall and his wife Jennifer of High Point, and Mark Wall of Gloucester, two sisters, Marie W. Foley and Elizabeth W. Wagoner and husband C. E. Wagoner, all of Bassett, a brother, Harold Wayne Wall and his wife Mary of Bassett, and an honorary son, Bill "Willie" Cook.
The funeral service will be at 2 P.M. Sunday, August 18, 2013, at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett with the Rev. Larry Cheek and Mark Ivey officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. prior to the service.
