Julia Trent Wingfield

Born in Patrick County February 24, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Gorden Trent and Ellen Griggs Trent. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Harvey Wingfield and a son, Charles Douglas Wingfield.

Julia was a homemaker who helped her husband on their farm. She loved square dancing, was involved in home demonstration through the Henry County Extension Service, and was a poll worker for many years in the Spencer precinct. Julia was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church and was the church Mother.

Surviving are two sons, Gorden L. Wingfield and his wife Kimberlee, and William Harvey Wingfield, all of Martinsville, daughter-in-law, Ruth Wingfield of Florisent, MO, a sister, Ruth T. Ruebush of Staunton, a brother, Charles Franklin Trent of Roanoke, 11 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 12 noon Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, where the family will receive friends from 11 to 12 noon. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Online condolences may be made at: www.collinsmckeestonebassett.com.
