Lillian Pinkard Forbes, age 95, of Rocky Mount, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at the Fork Mountain Rest Home. Born in Franklin County March 20, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Thomas Pinkard and Nettie Waldron Pinkard. Also preceding her in death was her husband, John A. Forbes, two sisters and a brother. She was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church and the Oak Level Ruritan Club Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are a daughter Freeda J. Croom and husband Homer A. Croom Jr. of Knightdale, NC, two sons Michael A. Forbes and wife Tammy of Rocky Mount and J. Patrick Forbes and wife Brenda of Blacksburg, sister-in-law Maggie (Bill) Hudson of Martinsville, and four grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 12 Noon on Friday, January 23, 2015, at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett with the Rev. Dr. Joey McNeill officiating. Interment will follow in Henry Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11 to 12 prior to the service.
