Marshall McCoy Asby, 88, of Bassett, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Stanleytown Health Care where he was a resident. He was born in Beauford County, North Carolina, June 29, 1927 to George Harrison Asby and Daisy Christabelle Cahoon. Marshall retired from Stanley Furniture Company and was a member of Villa Heights Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria Griffin Asby; sisters, Velma Gray Asby and Viola May Asby and Lottie A. Bowen; and one brother, Lony R. Asby.
Surviving are two sisters, Juanita Everson and Dorothy Wheaton, both of Washington, NC and one brother, Edward Stanley Asby of Chocowinity, NC. and one step-son, Thomas Elwood Lovelace of Martinsville.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Roselawn Burial Park with the Rev. Bonnie Lee Witt officiating.
