Mona Eames Mason

Mona Eames Mason, 72, went to her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 in Martinsville, Virginia surrounded by members of her loving family. She was born in Bassett, Virginia on April 30, 1943 to Claude Wilson Mason and Lora Elizabeth Eames Mason.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Wilson Mason and Thomas Howard Mason and one sister, Betty Lee Mason Bouldin.

Mona was a member of Fort Trial Baptist Church for almost 50 years and lived in group homes in Salem and Ridgeway, Virginia and was loved by many caregivers over the years. She will be sadly missed by all family and individuals whose lives she touched.

She is survived by two sisters, Linda Mason White and Rebecca Mason Cox, both of Martinsville; a special niece, Mary Beth Clement of Danville; two sisters-in-law, Mary Frances Mason of Patrick Springs and Zena Mason of Forest; seven nephews, four nieces, numerous great nieces and great nephews and two great great nieces.

The family will receive friends Friday night, August 21, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home-Bassett Chapel and receive friends at other times at the home of her sister, Linda White.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Fort Trial Baptist Church with Dr. Joey McNeill and Rev. Tony Beach officiating. Interment will follow in Henry Memorial Park.
