Mrs. Gibbs was born on July 10, 1933 in Floyd County, VA to Claude Pate and Judy Nolen Pate. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Doug Gibbs on November 22, 2009, sister, Blanche Sigmon, brothers, Mance Pate and Warren Pate. She was retired from Dupont where she was employed for many years. She was a member of Fort Trial Christian Church. She enjoyed crochet, watching and feeding her birds, swimming and time at the Y.
Mrs. Gibbs is survived by her daughter, Tammy G. Cardwell, granddaughter, Melissa L. McNeely (Jonathan), two great granddaughters, Allie McNeely and Aubrey McNeely and brother-in-law, James “Toby” Sigmon.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Fort Trial Christian Church from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 11:00 am at Fort Trial Christian Church with Pastor Danny Hart officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
