Raymond Hugh Miles

Mr. Raymond “Joe” Hugh Miles, age 77 of Henry, VA., passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019. Mr. Miles was born on February 21, 1941 in Bassett, VA., a son of the late Joseph Russell Miles, Sr. and the late Averia Ford Thornton Miles. He had served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by Dupont for over forty years. He was last employed by Henry County. He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Collinsville. He was a lifetime member of the Collinsville Volunteer Fire Department and a longtime member of the Piedmont Coin Club. Mr. Miles is survived by his wife, Tracy Miles of the residence, one son, Douglas Kevin Miles, one stepson, Blake Williams both of Collinsville, VA., three sisters, Temple Mays and husband, Bill of Collinsville, VA., Peggy M. Foster of Bassett, VA., Linda M. Ramsey of Alexandria, VA., one brother, Joseph “Jay” Russell Miles, Jr. and wife, Norma of Horsepasture, VA., one granddaughter, Alayna Williams of Horsepasture, VA. and one grandson, Eric Loredo of the U.S. Army in Germany. A Private Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in the Thornton Family Cemetery located at Henry, VA. with the Reverend Larry Cheek officiating.
