Sadie Delois Joyce Stone

Sadie Delois Joyce Stone, 89, of Martinsville, VA, passed away December 21, 2017 at Stanley town Health and Rehab. She was born October 5, 1928 to the late Oscar Joyce and Dorothy Wimbish Joyce. Sadie retired as a cafeteria manager with the Martinsville City Schools after serving for over 25 years. She was a member of McCabe Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, one son, Douglas Perry; one brother, Mervin Joyce; and one sister, Margaret Joyce Keffer, precede her in death. She is survived by a son, Elliott Stone and wife Connie H. Stone of Martinsville, VA; step-daughters, Maxine Richardson, and Mary Ann Walker; four grandchildren, Amy Richardson, Catina Hickman, Lee Richardson, and Brad Hickman; one brother, Otis Joyce, of Bassett, VA; and two sisters, Eunice J. Baker and Shirley J. Triplett, both of Martinsville, VA. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Mill Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Barry Cundiff and Dr. G.H. Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Mill Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
