Shirley Anne Dudley 73, of Stuart, went to her home in heaven on January 3, 2014 from the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart, VA. She was born in Franklin County (Snow Creek), March 12, 1940 to Henry R. Doyle and Mary Virginia McMillan Doyle, both deceased. She was a graduate of Franklin County High School and was bookkeeper for a family business for 20 years. Shirley had an extraordinary, loving, and forgiving heart and was of the Christian faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jean D. Thompson and two brothers, Wesley and Dexter Doyle.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Anne Dudley of Indiana; two sons, David and Doug Dudley of Newport News; two grandchildren; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Gary and Joan Doyle of Smith Mountain Lake, Bud Doyle of Bassett, Jerry and Janet Doyle of Snow Creek; Curtis and Amy Doyle of Rome, GA; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Gary Shelton of Bassett and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Monday, January 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Snow Creek Christian Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Collins Funeral Home in Bassett.
