Terry Lee Hancock

Terry Lee Hancock,54, of Bassett, died Friday May 17, 2013 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke. He was born in Martinsville on November 20, 1958 to the late Bernard E. Hancock and Naomi Ruth Dalton Hancock. He had worked for more than ten years with Stanley Furniture Company before becoming disabled.

He is survived by his special friend and companion Vicky Philpott, one step-daughter, Tammy Ore of Bassett, one son, Rodney Thornhill and wife, Cristie of Martinsville, three brothers and sisters-in-law; Frankie Hancock and wife Krickette of Bassett, James Hancock and wife Darlene of Bassett and Eddie Hancock and wife Janet of Bassett, one granddaughter, Emma Jennings, two grandsons, Mason and Logan Thornhill, one step-granddaughter, Jenna and one step- grandson, Jacob, one step- great-granddaughter, Tabatha and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday May 20, 2013 in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home of Bassett with Rev. Freddie Bonds and Rev. Danny Gilley officiating. Interment will follow in the Foley Family Cemetery in Patrick Springs. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home Bassett and other time at the home.
