Thomas David Kasey

Thomas D. Kasey, age 87, died January 5, 2019 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection, Stuart, VA. He was the only child of Thomas Boaz Kasey and Lora Eggleston Kasey, who both preceded him in death. Mr. Kasey was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a graduate of both Bluefield College and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, receiving his Master’s Degree from Virginia Tech. Mr. Kasey was retired from the Henry County Public School System, with nearly 35 years of service. He began his teaching career at Campbell Court Elementary School and then taught at Bassett High School until his retirement. Mr. Kasey was a member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville, where he taught Sunday school for many years. There will be no formal visitation. A register book will be available at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Drive, Bassett, VA., during normal business hours for those who wish to pay their respect. A Graveside Service will be conducted at Roselawn Burial Park at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 11, 2019 with Reverend Larry Cheek officiating.
